Gawain finished the London Chess Classic with a score of 7.5/9 which resulted in coming 1st= with GM Simon Williams. Ga was aware in the last round that if he lost he’d finish somewhere 3rd= (with lots of other players) tough sometimes being a professional.
Now Ga is in Poland playing this Blitz & Rapid Championship where I believe he is 34th seed! A very strong tournament and just some fun. The Blitz is a 13 round where you play your opponent with black and white so effectively 26/26 is the highest score possible. Tomorrow and Sunday will be the rapid which will be a 13round swiss with a time control of 15’+10″ Ga is seeded 38th. So far after 5 rounds he is on 8/10! Good luck .
