Gawain is currently on 3/3 in the Lucca Open. I have topped up my dongle so now I’m able to use the web freely until we get internet all set up here. I can’t seem to find a site with results and the Lucca website seems to have been infested with malware. I have seen though a list of players available here. Which shows 5 Grandmasters fighting for the €700 first prize. This medieval town nearby Pisa is where Gawain lived between the ages of 12-14(?) and where I believe he has a room named after him at the chess club, something like Salla de Gawain Jones.
Gawain is back tomorrow late evening and then will depart Monday evening for his flight to Johanneburg via Madrid in time for a few days sightseeing before getting down to business.
